Getting started

Three steps from sign-up to your first chart. The whole flow takes under five minutes once you have your broker login handy.

1. Sign up

Pick a plan on the pricing page. Stripe handles payment. After checkout you land on a confirmation screen with a button to set your password — that opens the cockpit on your first sign-in.

Tip
The 14-day Trader trial doesn't require a card. You can poke the cockpit risk-free.

2. Connect a broker

Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the cockpit, then Connected brokers. Phihelm supports four:

  • Schwab — OAuth, no API keys to copy. The most common path.
  • Topstep — username + password (Topstep's own creds).
  • Alpaca — paste your Alpaca API key + secret.
  • Paper — auto-created when your account is provisioned. No setup.

Every broker connection is encrypted with AES-GCM at rest. Phihelm cannot decrypt your tokens without your account.

3. First trade

Default to the paperaccount for your first session. The paper broker simulates fills with realistic wick filtering — your paper P&L will land within $5 of what your live broker would have produced on the same setup.

  1. Pick a symbol from the top-left search (default ES).
  2. Wait for an active signal in the left feed.
  3. Review the AI pre-scan in the OPT panel on the right.
  4. Click TAKE — the bracket order fires automatically.
Look for
A green "Convergence" bar at 70+ with the AI showing +5 confidence or higher. That's the weight-of-evidence threshold for most patterns.
Avoid
Trading the open without checking the breadth dashboard first. The first 15 minutes are noise; signals taken pre-09:45 ET have ~12% lower win rate in our 90-day backtest.
